Rick, I started golfing a year and a half ago. First game was atrocious but I was hooked. I’m consistently hitting high 80’s low 90’s now, have dipped down to 82 once, but haven’t been back there in a while lol. My driver is on some days and others I miss every fairway I play driver on. I have a tendency to suck my arms in on the downswing. I’m quite muscular and lack some flexibility, but it’s decent enough. Without trying to kill the ball im averaging around 115 club head speed with the driver and can bomb it on good days, bad days, I bomb it where I can’t find it! You and Peter have taught me golf since I started. Thank you for all you do for golf community.

Thanks Rick! Between this series and a how to fix your slice series you did 18months or so ago i’ve gone from a horrific slice so bad i didn’t carry a driver to the owner of a nice power fade.

Great video Rick! My question is, how do you get more centeredness of contact? I do most of the things you have mentioned in your video but I do noticed that I am hitting all over the face at impact, which causes the different directions like you mentioned.

Hey Rick love all your videos. I have a question what’s more important club speed or distance. With a regular shaft I swing about 112mph with a stiff I swing around 97 but also get about 20 yards further should I stick with the stiff?

ronburgendy4 you might just be swing too fast for ur tempo so ur faster speed isn't being hit with a center hit on the face , and stuff you probably feel it different so u swing is much better that's why it's going further. With 95 mph you can hit 250+ easy

The follow through is where I lose the plot. I can't seem to get that great extension through the ball toward the target that you and all scratch golfers have.

joec0914 amen. Me too. Unless I concentrate hard, I have he tendency to draw my arms back into my body. I think it has a lot to do with my build. I quite muscular and not super flexible. I have great club head speeds and distance with driver, just lack control. And it changes from game to game. Some days I drive fairways all game, others I’ll miss every fairway I swing a driver on

Totally missed how lag is created, how it's maintained and then delivered through the impact zone. Your wrists make up 66% of your speed source. Full extension of the arms shouldn't occur until about 45° into your through swing (past the ball). How about mentioning some of this really important stuff In your videos?

What about opposing forces and counter action of weight of arms, when swinging thru? Its not just swinging the arms thru, that gives power. What does the body do, to balance the weight of the arms swinging thru, and add mass to the strike?

Hey Rick,
I struggle with an overswing and the front leg folds in. What can I do over the winter months to stop all this happening. I can do a perfect practice swing but as soon as I put a ball down it all goes wrong. Don't get me wrong, I can hit a good ball off the tee but desperately want to stop it. Very Daly like swing!!!

Absolutely correct about those sweet spots! Over 10 years ago, either Golf Magazine or Golf Digest ran an article where they showed (with colored overlays) where the driver sweet spot was for every manufacturer. ONLY the Titleist driver of that day had the sweet spot in the dead center of the face. EVERY other manufacturer's driver had their sweet spot slightly above center, slightly towards the toe.
