Any thoughts on the announcement that Rory will be playing the Sub-Zero Callaway for the South African Open? How this matches up with his game vs. other clubs. Appears he will have Calaway Irons but Titlest wedges.

I find the m2 is more forgiving than the m1 as I've played with people who use the m1 where one drive is 10 yards further than me then the next is 10 yards short of me because they didn't hit the dead centre

Rick, just want to thank you personally.  For the past 20 years or so my brother and I have been competing on the golf course.  Unfortunately I have never been able to top him.  After finding your channel and watching just about all of your videos especially the topics of stop slicing the driver and getting more power with the irons, I am happy to tell you I finally beat him this past summer on a guys golf trip to myrtle beach.  Your  videos are the best teaching tool I have found yet even better than the lesson I took.  You explain things thoroughly and easily.  I look forward to more videos in 2017 and thanks for the chance to win some great gifts.  Happy New Year!!!!!

My top driver for 2016 is the nearly new condition 10.5 degree SLDR 430 I got at a 2nd hand shop for $69. It came with some cheapo no name whippy shaft so I popped in the one from my Jetspeed TP driver and I am just killing it. Who knew a smaller head was easier to hit and longer? I have tried all the latest and greatest and they are not even in the same league.

Bought the XR16 Pro the day it came out in the US. It's the best all around driver I've ever hit. I haven't tested the M2 but I did test the M1 and found it much less forgiving than expected. At the end of the day it's all about custom fitting and personal preference. Thanks for the videos Rick!

just don't like that crown on the ping, just too weird looking. I don't think that crown helps with club speed enough for anyone to notice either
Adam Flynn
Adam Flynn - 3 years ago
BF golf thats were they have made it thinner but because its in that pattern they say its still as strong..but it means they save 8g of weight out of the crown that they put low down and back in the head to increase forgiveness
BF golf
BF golf - 3 years ago
Adam Flynn yeah the turbulators are for speed, I don't see how recessing that material down into the crown reduces weight of the crown. I mean is it actually thinner on those spots or is it just sunk down. if it is as just sunk down, looks like it would actually require more material
Adam Flynn
Adam Flynn - 3 years ago
BF golf the dragonfly design isnt for clubhead speed its to save weight so it can be put lower down in the head to make it more forgiving...but no i dont like the design either

Cody Person - 3 years ago
BF golf I didn't like it much either until I bought the driver after it performed so well for me, it really grows on you. Turbulators really help with alignment behind the ball. I averaged 8 to 10 yards of carry with the G over the G30. Don't know if the dragon fly tech had anything to do with that or not though. But I'm sold on it.

Ur right. I can get an ugly M1 thats sprays it. Wooooo. Also i got my D4 with a Diamana White and a UST Attas for 380 slightly used. LESS than M2
kvgolfa
kvgolfa - 3 years ago
Sebastian Nachilly That's all subjective. What's not subjective is that you can get a driver that spins the same as your D4 but with significantly higher MOI, significantly cheaper.
Sebastian Nachilly
Sebastian Nachilly - 3 years ago
Titilest make the best looking, souding, and feeling drivers on the market. They play extremely well too when they are properly fitted. D4 is best driver Ive ever hit
Casteliero
Casteliero - 3 years ago
ksinghvirk every driver on the market has plenty of adjustments to choose from. Look at jpx 900 driver, it has like millions of options, but it is also a good example of bad designing and awful usability. And that is my point. Titleist made it simple and super easy to use, but still effective. Just simply good design and innovation.
kvgolfa
kvgolfa - 3 years ago
How is that even close to a big innovation. Go look at MyGolfSpy driver CG article and the amount of CG adjustability capable in the F6+ drivers and tell me how that comes close.

Titliest is 6 years behind
Casteliero
Casteliero - 3 years ago

kvgolfa
kvgolfa - 3 years ago
Casteliero lol you're an idiot
Casteliero
Casteliero - 3 years ago
I would say that their new surefit cg brought much more new innovation value to the table than anything callaway or ping drivers would. That might even be the biggest single innovation for drivers 2016. Even because of that it would earn it's place on the list.
Dan B
Dan B - 3 years ago
Quality if product titliest are up there with the best, performance of them doesnt compare to M1/M2 and im sure forgiveness isnt up there with XR/G ranges. Titliest fans dont like it but they are the same people telling amateurs to use titliest blades :D
Casteliero
Casteliero - 3 years ago
I'm quite certain you can put their line head-to-head with any of these. And there isn't that much difference with different new drivers anyways. They don't give you extra 30y comparing other new driver or anything, it's just marketing gimmicks and branding. Rick just might like these brands better.

Rick - I've been looking to get an M2 in the sales, but can now get an M1 for the same price (£249). I've not been playing too long - do you think that the M1 might be 'too advanced' and I'd be better off with the M2 anyway?
Benny Frank the 3rd
Benny Frank the 3rd - 3 years ago
£250 is a lot of cash. And when you are spending big time on new shiny equipment make sure you try it with a good club fitter (not salesman) at hand. On ebay it's ok to take a little risk - and if doesn't fit resell.
Those PING G drivers are actually pretty forgiving. Maybe you need a different shaft (another flex, shorter length)? Or just a lesson ;-)
Lee Barnes
Lee Barnes - 3 years ago
Thanks for the reply. Have actually reconsidered as I don't want to make the mistake I made recently in buying without trying (albeit that was a £40 second hand ping G15 off ebay).
Benny Frank the 3rd
Benny Frank the 3rd - 3 years ago
Lee Barnes No, in the weight back position it's forgiving. However, new gear is fun but make sure you have enough funds left for (good) lessons and green fees which is even more fun
