I am finding the yardages to be off by 7-15 yards. Other players have a garminas well and they have different readings. I has the gonglas gps on so I'm not sure what else I can do.

How do you delete courses from the watch and or phone? My watch will find the course I'm at but will fail to download. I think it's because too many courses are on the watch but I can't find any way of getting rid of some.

I have not done it in a while, so I can't recall, but you should see it on your app. You might want to call support and they can guide you through it.

FYI, The yardage measuring feature that the presenter hasn't used is a very handy and powerful tool  I'm beginning to play again and I'm trying to determine how far I hit each club. I use this feature to measure each shot and I note the club and the type of lie and the distance on my scorecard for later review.  As I play more and record this information, I expect to have better data on what I might reasonably expect when hitting each of my clubs which I think will be very helpful when making the final approach shot to the green from various yardages.

Does anyone know how to view the clock when using the golf app?

Seems ridiculous I am wearing a watch but cannot view the time.

+Alexander Coombs press and hold the screen for a few seconds and it should take you to the main screen, then you can go back to golf mode.

I have the Vivoactive HR. I just played my first round and all seemed to work fine. I finished the round saved it, watch said saved but I can't see it on Garmin Connect? I don't even see it on my watch as a activity. I even walked today had to be almost 20,000 steps per by buddies fitbit. I get nothing???

Am I understanding correctly? All the available courses are not downloaded to the watch. You can only download the one you are going to play and if you play another course, you would then have to download it to the watch?

Correct.

I too am having this problem, "Anyone else having trouble getting courses added to the watch?  They
show as "downloaded" on my phone, but only one shows up on the watch."
Bob Thackery
Bob Thackery - 3 years ago
You may have multiple courses on your watch simultaneously.  I have 4 local courses on mine.  You have to swipe the screen from right to left to scroll to each course.  Not sure how many courses you may store on the watch simultaneously.

I believe you will need to remove the course on your phone and then pick the other course from your app and when it sync's next time, it should show up on the watch. There are some limitations with the golf features as this is not a dedicated golf watch.

I've used my Garmin for golf once. I was so excited to use it, especially to help with yardage and scoring, since I'm a very beginner golfer. The one thing I noticed was that it didn't automatically advance to the next hole. You mentioned in your video that it is automatic. Is there a setting so this happens automatically? Thanks for the video!

Does it count strokes as you hit the ball? I have the microsoft band 2 and it detects when you actually hit the ball and adds a stroke. Is this similar?
SidScheckMarketing
SidScheckMarketing - 4 years ago
It does not automatically do that for you. You have press the button.

I really like this watch and have started using it to keep score.  On my round today I saved the scorecard to look at it on the Garmin Connect.  Now that I'm finished with it, I can't find a delete feature...anyone have this similar issue?

How do I get/enter the "Fairway Hit", "GIR", and Putts/Hole info. I see it on the Garmin Connect app on the phone and I see an example of it on the computer but it doesn't auto add this info so I assume you have to enter it but I can't figure it out. Thank you very much.

I tried the golf app once but it did not adjust the yardage as I approached the hole. Is there something I am doing wrong?

Do you need to download a course every time you play it ie. I download course A today and have to download it tomorrow when I play again?I suspect as long as it has been downloaded on phone - you have to sync with phone every time you play even if its the same course?
SidScheckMarketing
SidScheckMarketing - 4 years ago
+Rich Shalloo If it is on your phone, it will be there the next day as well.

Nope.

So the only downside is that you don't have the courses preloaded.

True, but you can easily add the course you are going to play at.

Do the front, middle, and back green (and layup) yardage numbers adjust as you play the hole? Like if I'm on my third shot on a par 5, will it show me different numbers to the green as opposed to the tee shot yardage numbers?
SidScheckMarketing
SidScheckMarketing - 5 years ago
It automatically adjusts for the hole and will give you the information how far you are from the front, middle and back of the green

Can someone tell me if it would be ok to wear the vivoactive while playing ice hockey? I plan on wearing the HR strap and the watch to all my games, just wanted to get some feedback from all of you.

+Peter Sygieda I would think of ok for a golf swing, it should be ok. Maybe get extended warranty like I did in case. it was not that much.

+SidScheckMarketing thanks for the reply, it should be protected by the hockey glove so I think it should be ok, my biggest concern is the g-force being applied to my hand while shooting, will it damage the watch, not sure how tough it is inside.
SidScheckMarketing
SidScheckMarketing - 5 years ago
Don't see why not. just hope it wont get damaged somehow.
